Spring 1099. Along the fringes of the Balkans—between barren land and jungle-like forests we follow a teenage boy and a middle-aged rogue as they make their way home from the battlegrounds of the First Crusade. There is a constant, oppressive sense of urgency hanging over their journey. In the background, greater forces are already in mo-tion: a mounted band of Crusaders led by Lord Goda is pursuing them, believing that they carry the Spear of Longinus—a sacred relic they hope will secure the conquest of Jerusalem. What unfolds is a psychedelic road movie into the unknown.
